STRATEGIES FOR CHANGE PROGRAM - SACRAMENTO, CA

Strategies for Change outpatient substance abuse treatment provides the tools and resources to assist adults in sustaining sobriety. Participation is open to adults, 18 years and older, seeking long-term sobriety. Clients must attend a minimum of 2 groups per week and 2 individual counseling sessions per month. All clients receive a substance use and mental health assessment to determine the extent of his or her substance abuse and mental health issues. Aftercare is available upon graduation. Free childcare is available to all active clients.

AOW has collected and donated books, toys and board games for the center but the center is still in need of many other items. Here are a few to name:

  • There is a need for a playground facility for children to exercise while their parent is in treatment.
  • A computer lab will benefit the graduates by providing them with important computer skills that will assist them in obtaining employment. This would include purchasing computers, desk and printers.
  • And a new kitchen, which the center utilizes to help clients learn the value of healthy cooking and proper nutrition.

You may donate money directly to the center, participate in one of our events benefiting "Strategies for Change" or make a purchase to donate.

For more information from the center, please contact Anne Fenkner at 916-448-2951 ext. 226
